Property Insurance will be not renewed - we self-manage

The insurance for our rental property in Virginia will not be renewed because:

We moved more than 400 miles from our primary residence; and we have no property manager (we self manage and have a local contractor as needed).

Is having a property manager a requirement for insuring rental properties ?   Any suggestions?
