Marketing Dollars per Deal
I am just curious if anyone has a ballpark idea of how much they spend per direct mail deal. I know this will go down over time as one gains experience. I am guessing that it could be as high as $2,000 per deal to start but would love to hear from someone with experience.

I have been direct mail marketing for about 18 months, and my number seems to be about $2500. Obviously it was much higher at first and has seemed to settle at $2500. One of the lists I market to only yields 2 deals per 10 months (so far but I am into 2nd year) and requires a lot of mailers which does bump up the cost per deal. My budget is about $1300 per month and if I stay on track my number of deals this year will be higher; thus, my cost per deal will be lower.
