Wholesaling Backwards Anyone?

Has anyone had any success at wholesaling backwards? I’ve never done a deal before and I am having anxiety about finding a motivated seller putting them under contract then being unable to locate a buyer within the allotted time frame. So my question is have anyone located a buyer first prior to finding a seller in order to make sure your deal is secure? Is this a smart move to try it this way? I am new to this and I have 1 motivated seller with no buyer prospects. I haven’t put the house under contract yet due to me not having a buyer. HELP What do I do next? I’m in Prince Georges County Maryland.
