Hello BP Community,

I have a question that I have had for the past couple days that I am confused about.

When do I officially lose my EMD in the buying process?

Hey, @Henry Marquez - If you have an inspection and/or financing contingency built into your contract, then you should have until the set deadline to get your deposit back. Typically, both the buyer and seller will sign a cancellation and release form if the contract falls through.  If you have waived all your contingencies, or if you try to void the contract after any of these deadlines have passed, you could lose your deposit.
