Bandit Signs in North Jersey

We are looking for marketing strategies and want to test out bandit signs. We know that there are risks involved in using these. I was wondering if people have actually run into some trouble by using these signs, and if so, how did you resolve them?

Also, have people had any success with the use of bandit signs? If so, any strategies with placement, days of the week, content on the signs, etc.

Thanks!

@Carolyn Baek Some BP members call Bandit signs "lame" and "low-end" lol.. they're are my favorite! 4 flips, 3 wholesale deals, and 2 more rentals in the last 12 months off the bandit signs! My market is absolutely saturated with people doing direct mail.. so i decided to rely heavily on bandit signs instead since no one else here does..and its worked out quite well as far as cost effectiveness vs direct mail

I haven't had any issues. No fines, and not a single phone call from the city/county! They seem not to mind but every city is going to be different. Here in Clarksville they'll stay up for weeks, whereas If i put them up in Nashville, the city has them pulled up within 24 hours.

Strategies:

Place them at major choke points where neighborhoods empty onto major thoroughfares.
At Stop lights/stop signs or anywhere traffic backs up
On wood telephone poles using 1" capped roofing nails, up high enough where people can't just walk by and rip them down
I put 5 out per day while im out finding my 5 daily Driving for Dollars houses and then one day a week as many as i can. I'll usually go on a bandit sign rampage early Sunday morning, or late Sunday night (low traffic) and replace signs that have been pulled up or knocked down.

Content?  I use:
WE BUY HOUSES!!!
cash-terms-foreclosure
ANY Condition
xxx-xxx-xxxx
website

Red and white lettering.

super cheap signs has some great templates and they've got a pretty quick turn around

Then there's my reverse-ish bandit sign!
My last deal came after all other means of contacting the homeowner failed. DM, no social media, no relatives, no phone numbers. I decided to give it one last shot and made a homemade bandit sign and placed in the front yard of the clearly abandoned house. "If you know the owner, please call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx id like to buy it!" Getting that one made up as we speak!

Neighbor called that night with the owner's number!
