Handwritten vs outsourcing letters

My partner and I are in the midst of our 1st marketing campaign. He wants to hand write the letters. He believes a hand written letter will be better received and is cost efficient. I on the other hand want to outsource the letters. Time is money and the time spent writing the letters could be time spent doing something else. Now it is our first marketing campaign and our funds aren't where we want them to be. So I'm all for saving money. But, we're sending out letters to over 400 addresses. So from everyone's experiences which is better: handwritten letters or outsourcing the letters?

Why do you need the letters handwritten anyway? because you hear that's what other people do?

You want the address on the envelope handwritten so that the seller sets aside and opens the letter to see what you have to say instead of tossing it in the trash with the other junk!

I would suggest a professional typed letter with their name and address mail merged into each letter. Maybe at the bottom you type Best Regards and then actually sign your signature.

This shows that you are real and a professional. Not some weirdo writing hi my name is X and I want to buy your house for ca$h. Call me now.

I do it and it has huge success.
