EB-5 Investment Immigration projects

Does anybody have any information on how to broker EB-5 Investment Immigraton Projects? I am working with a developer who sponsors the EB-5 for overseas  Chinese, Korean, and Indian investors who will invest $500k+ in real estate in the U.S. to qualify for a U.S. Visa.

I had lunch with one of the principals and he told me that the EB-5 investements are governed by the SEC and that I may need to get my security license for clients I bring to him from overseas.

Don't know much about it, but currently researching it.

@Mark Creason is right. The EB-5 Visa program is to create new jobs or preserve jobs.  It is not for your typical turnkey investments.  This program has typically been used with new build hotels, large scale developments and manufacturing.

I have not involved with any type of development using the EB-5 program but the few that I have come across a few deals that used this form of investment, as source of mezzanine financing.  Since the primary goal of the investors is to get a visa to the US, the rates for the mezzanine loan are typically at or below the primary loan. I also assume that this is a cumbersome process.

if you are looking to find out more I would recommend you contacting a Regional Center. They are the intermediary between you and the international investor.
