BP, My friend and I are going to our first REIA meeting tomorrow and I have to say that I am nervous but also extremely excited. The agenda of the meeting is Real Estate law and there will be a lawyer discussing the various laws in my state. My question to BP is how can I get the most out of this meeting? As long time investors what would you want to see/hear from a newbie/would-be investor!? Any tips or suggestions to prepare me for this meeting? Thanks BP!

@Michael Hartman

I am a director for our REIA here in my area and this is what I think you should do to get the most out of your first meeting:

1. Get there 15 minutes early, you never know who you might run into.

2. Sign up to become a member.

3. Network, network and more networking

4. Attend any early bird sessions

5. Sit closer to the front, take notes

6. Meet as many people you can who are doing what you want to learn how to do and try to get their time, this can be done by asking them to lunch ( on you of course :) )

Good luck
