Wholesaling a Haunted House? Would you do it?
On my way to church this past Saw a House for sale in Concord NC. This house is a Split level Bungalow House built in the early 1900's. It is 4 bedrooms (possibly a 5th can be created) over 2300sqft. House needs lots of work. Needs a roof, landscaping, patchwork etc. I would estimated 30k in rehab. to be on the safe side, i would say 35k.
This home is located near Union Street near downtown Concord, where there are some of the most Beautiful Historic I have ever seen.
I got in touch with the owner and made an appointment.
Here is the situation.
His wife passed away about 6 months ago after 40 years of marriage. For any of you who are married, this is a very tough situation. He is basically living in the Living room, most all the rooms are basically an accumulation of old memorabilia. The property has alot of deferred maintenance. So i would rather over estimate than underestimate fixup costs.
As I was in the process of leaving our 1 hour viewing, he told me that lately he has witnessed some odd behavior in the house. His coffee cup being moved when he knows he didn't move it. His expensive canon camera suddenly dissapeared for weeks only to suddenly appear almost like someone was playing a joke on him.
He and his wife use to play little jokes on 1 another when she was alive. Actually his stories are really facinating.
Anyway back to the price:
He was asking 59k. Then he asked for 40k cash
35k in fix up needed
Local MLS comps i am coming up with is around 135k to 147k.
with more negociating i can get the property for around $27,500.00
My issue is, Would any of you buy a house that was Haunted or with paranormal activity?
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.
