Best practices to connect with AWESOME people as a new investor

Hello BP,

I've hesitated to post due to being an REI noob and believing I currently don't offer much to this community. My hope is this topic may offer direction for someone other than myself..... Thank you in advance. When investing in RE there are plenty of factors that will determine your success.... location, relationships, timing, knowledge, and the strategic application of it. Sometimes those things align seamlessly, and others, it's a chaotic rollercoaster ride with no guardrail, tracks, or seatbelts..... yet I'm grateful for the vehicle RE offers. I do believe in an abundant mentality.....more than enough for all. According to NAR, there were 59 billion dollars of volume for foreign buyers purchasing residential real estate from April 2021 – March 2022 (2.6% of $2.3 trillion of the dollar volume of existing home sales)..... and that was only foreign national purchases.  So given my mentality and the vast nature of real estate in this country, why is it so difficult to connect with AWESOME people in this space?  Not saying ALL.... and understanding, not ALL will have the same mentality.  This leads me to ask our community, what advice, knowledge, or practice would you suggest to forge great relationships in real estate?  I was under the belief that if I'm a person of integrity and have value to offer, starting on the path to RE relationships would be simple. My current experience has been one where there isn't full disclosure, product and services mini commercials..... things that were never requested have now become the focal point, I'm just super busy right now....yet you offered and insisted you would be a resource, opportunity seekers abound (the conversation was centered around you being an active buyer in the market AND now the conversation is about why you'd make a great JV partner). gurus... just send me x amount of dollars and I can help you, established "good ole boys/girls" cliches.  I have fully excepted my responsibility for my own education and understanding.... and I'm committed to it, but I'm becoming discouraged with what seems to be the reoccurring minutia in the marketplace.  Relationships take time..... not looking for an "overnight" real estate love affair, but I would ask... is trust, integrity, patience, encouragement, and the spirit of service to others something I should/shouldn't expect??  I'm willing to give it.....just haven't connected to that myself.  What say you.......
