Hi everyone, I’m a college student living in Hammond, Louisiana. My husband and I are both working part time jobs but trying to learn as much as we can to get into real estate investing (wholesaling, home flipping, etc.) Last year about this time I called a bandit sign in hopes to find a mentor to teach me the ends and out of the game. It didn’t work out and I have become discouraged to reach out in fear of scams and people who don’t really care to help teach and grow aspiring investors on their journey honestly. I want to try again because I just wonder where I could have gotten a year later if the call lead to a great connection and inspiring teacher. Anyone taking on teachable investors who are hard working and want to grow their skills and knowledge?

You don't need a mentor yet as evidenced by the fact you're calling a bandit sign to find a mentor. You need to put your nose to the grindstone by spending at least 3 hours a day (or night) reading and researching real estate strategies, marketing, contracts, etc. There is no substitute for committing the time necessary to learn a craft...something a mentor can't do for you, it's got to be a burning desire inside you. There is tons of information on various YouTube channels, social media groups, etc. and most of it is free. Some of it is good and much of it is terrible taught by folks who did two failed deals and now want to teach others how to become successful. You have to learn to vet out the scammers and you do that by having a basic knowledge of real estate and learning to ask the right questions of anyone who is pitching their training.
