Started my own property management company

Starting a property management company with my brother and my dad was a mix of teamwork, trust, and family dinners doubling as business meetings. AJ Fields Inc. began when we saw an opportunity to take over management responsibilities for a family friend’s properties. Despite being based in NYC, I’ve learned to delegate, handle operations remotely, and watch my brother thrive as a leader on the ground in Boston. Building this company with my family has taught me the power of collaboration and the importance of playing to each other’s strengths. We have grown over the years to manage 11 buildings and 25 units.

Congrats Abby! Property management is not for the faint of heart, so glad to see you're enjoying it and thriving. I feel like it's a space where great operators can really clean up, since the bar is set really low, in my experience at least. Boston should be a great area to expand as there is plenty of investor-owned rental property. Good luck in the future!
