How did you choose to join your brokerage?

What drew you into your brokerage and what is keeping you there?  And for those who created your own brokerage, what made you decide to create a new company and how do you make yourselves different from others?

I am looking to join the commercial real estate market! However as a novice broker, choosing the right brokerage to join has not been as simple as I thought. Training/education, commission split, desk fees/expenses are key points that I got from a previous post (joining a brokerage, forum question).  I was more curious as to how most of the Bigger Pockets community joined their brokerages.

Many thanks to all and I look forward to your replies!
