Tools for Real Estate Analysis/ Market Research

Posted

Hello everyone,

I'm a real estate investor based in Toronto, Canada. I've noticed that we don't have as many market research tools as investors in the US. Given my tech and data background, I'm considering developing an online app specifically for Canadian investors.

I'm envisioning an interactive dashboard that integrates economic data, sales figures, bylaws, and rental information, complete with prediction models. I admire the approach taken by ZipSmart in the US and aim to create a similar tool for all Canadian provinces but with less emphasis on the map.

I have a few questions for my fellow investors:

  1. What tools do you currently use to evaluate your deals?
  2. What data points are most important to you in your decision-making process?
  3. What data or capabilities are currently missing in the tools you use today?
  4. How much would you be willing to pay for a comprehensive market research tool?

Thank you very much for your input!
