Winnipeg, Canada meet ups, groups, info and recommendations!

Hey BP community!

I am a long time Bigger Pockets fan and a first time forum "poster" from Winnipeg, Canada. My focus as an investor is buy & hold real estate with long term and short term rentals.

In 2022, I am looking to network and surround myself with others in the industry to ultimately help each other expand our real estate businesses. I don't have anyone in my circle that invests in real estate but I'm changing that this year. Does anyone know of any local Winnipeg meet ups or online Canadian Real Estate communities? Is anyone from Winnipeg or Manitoba and interested in connecting? 

Alternatively, does anyone have any recommendations on books or podcasts specific to Canadian Real Estate Investing? BP has been great but I'm also interested in hearing from Canadian Real Estate Investors.

Welcome to BP and REI!

I'm living overseas now so in person doesn't work, but I'm from Morden, MB. I would search for some groups on Facebook as I know there are some there. 

As for Canadian podcasts...On YouTube, there is Darren Voros - He has a lot of content that covers the whole spectrum of running a REI business. It's a mix of him delivering content and interviewing others. The interviews could give you a lot of other people to follow/connect with for what you need.

Investor Mel & Dave - I heard Voros interview them, but haven't really dove into any of their content, but they did 12 seller-financed deals in 12 months.

If you're looking for how to get into the USA market for Canadians, Glenn Sutherland's "A Canadian Investing the US" podcast is similar to Voros mix of personal insights and interviews, but (almost) all with the focus on going south.
