DWSD Damage Claim

Has anyone filed a damage claim with Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) for property damage? I am trying to get first-hand accounts from owner perspectives.

Hey Alice, I've never had to file a claim for water damage but I'll try and be more helpful than Greg's random reply...

I know a few years ago, particularly on the Eastside near Jefferson Chalmers there was some flooding in basements largely due to city infrastructure failing. I wasn't really impacted with any of my houses but I know there was a claims process for that.

I don't know what you're dealing with exactly but I would simply call DWSD and explain to them what's going on. They should be able to help.

I own 12-doors in Detroit and any time I need to deal with the city, DWSD, or DTE it's generally a pretty pleasant experience and folks are kind and willing to help.
