Tenants ask for compensation for water damage
Hey BP community, one of my rentals in Atlanta recently had a broken pipe caused water damage, it has been fixed. The inspection and fix took a few weeks. The tenants are asking for compensation because they couldn't use the living room and part of the kitchen for a few weeks to a month-ish... Has anyone run into this kind of situation before? After the tenants reported the issue, we investigated and fixed asap, I don't think it's necessary to compensate any inconvenience that cause by this, but I'm wondering what's everyone doing with it?

@Jason Li It would be perfectly reasonable to discount by the non-usable portion of the property. So they lost use of 20% for one month that is 20% less space/money. The real issue is did they loss that use for that long. For a day or two no discount because that is reasonable but if 1/4 of your unit is gone for a month would you expect to pay the same for it?
