Real estate agent in SoCal to help with investing down the road?

Trying to find the smartest way to go about my real estate adventure. I’m getting out of the marine Corp in a few months and have been reading and watching everything real estate. I will be staying in Southern California for only 2 years after I get out and am trying to get my ’foot in the door’. I am leaning towards real estate agent to learn what I can about investing and my marketplace. If anyone has any pointers or suggestions I am all ears!
