Lead farming - provide phone or Website?
There are many ways to market for buyer and seller leads -- direct mail, print advertising, newspaper classifieds, on-line classifieds (like Craigslist), bandit signs, etc.
The question is -- when is it best to supply only a phone number, and when is a Website address preferable? It occurs to me that each medium may have better results with one or the other. For example, phone numbers are generally considered best for bandit signs. I'm also thinking that phone numbers may be better for Craigslist ads because people are increasingly wary of clicking on untrusted/unknown links, due to the possibility of computer virus infections.
I'd like to hear some thoughts on preferences for the various types of marketing media, as to whether a phone number or a Website link is most effective. Or when both together are appropriate.
Thanks! Eager for your feedback...
