Real Estate Marketing 101: Your Vehicle is a Billboard in Motion

Did you ever wonder why so many Big Companies spend millions on advertising? Think about the cost of a 30 second Super Bowl Commercial? If these large companies do it they must expect a great return on their investment of advertising dollars. We are small business owners when it comes to real estate investing. We do not have these large lofty budgets to through into advertising. However, there are ways we can advertise in real estate to generate leads and cash buyers.

I knew a college professor that would often proclaim: "Marketing is everything, and everything is Marketing!"  Are you marketing your real estate business as best as you can?  Are you doing everything within your power to generate leads?  

Late last night I was catching up on several emails and enjoying a delicious deep dish pizza when an idea popped into my head for real estate investing - Be Bold...Be Loud...and Be Proud! - Let the world know you Buy and Sell Houses!  Your vehicle needs to be used as a Billboard in Motion! - Also, remember to check with your CPA to see what you might be able to write off for business expenses :)  

We drive many miles for fun and for work. I can't believe my little Toyota has more than 135,000 miles! Did I really drive all those miles...you bet I did!  Then it came to me. My car is a "Billboard in Motion"!  I began to think, how many people see me driving in all the local target market neighborhoods where I often drive for dollars.  How many people would see me sitting in traffic on the Dan Ryan I-90/I94 everyday when I commuted 2 hours home in stop and go rush hour traffic from the Chicago downtown area.  

So, why not utilize your car, van, suv or truck to your benefit? Can you get large magnets for the side of your car that reads "We buy/sell houses" or something even more creative? Could you get a large bumper sticker for the front and back of your car?  Could you even go to an automotive detailing shop and have your entire car wrapped as a large mobile advertisement?  YES!!! 

When I would commute to work several years ago, I would see so many Taxi cabs and buses in Chicago with Ads on their roofs and on the sides of their vehicles. Just one deal, yes one deal could more than pay for this mobile on the go advertising! Even if the deal is an assignment for under $1,000 that could pay for your advertising! How great is that return on your investment?

I know several car shops and print shops offer car decals that cover the front, back or sides of your car. They call this wrapping your car. Could you put an ad on the back of your truck or SUV tail gate area? Could you do a screening print in the rear window of your vehicle?  Always be sure to check with local ordinances to see what you may be able to do in your local area.  

The advertising could be endless. Can you imagine your car be noticed driving around town or even parked in a mall parking lot for 8 hours? You can't buy advertising that good, especially if you park near the roadway of the mall! (Note Tip about strategic parking places at the mall )  if you have children and they borrow your car, definitely make sure they drive this vehicle to work and on the weekends!

The possibilities and opportunities are endless! So be a little creative and see what opportunites will come your way! Let the phone continue to RING!
