Illegal Bandit Signs :(
Hello All
This is my first post here ( I have been reading alot) and need some help.
I am very interested in wholesaling properties, I read many things online and still learning a ton. I thought in the mean time while still gathering more information for myself I would try to get my hand dirty and post some signs.
I live on Long Island in New York and I put up only two signs while running around doing errands and about two hours later I got a call (thinking to myself no way I could get a call this quick). The guy left a message and I called him back with pen and paper at hand ready to take notes. Well to my surprise it was a person from the town telling me that bandit signs are illegal. He was a nice guy didnt mention anything about fines or anything, I told him that I would take them down.
I am now kind of lost as to what to do with marketing and trying to get homes for investors.I have a couple investors already to ready to move on properties. I did read about sending out letters and I will try that next and when I get some more money I will make a website.
What else do you guys do to get investors/sellers when bandit signs are illegal?
Also if signs are legal to hang on poles im guessing sticking them into the ground would be as well or could it vary?
Another question I have is does any one know where I would be able to find purchase contracts and assignments? I have done a ton of searching but couldnt find anything good. I am a real estate and I have read that some people use the contracts from local MLS, but I feel like the sellers wouldnt like seeing those?
One more question, does anyone in the Long Island area know of an investor friendly attorney to use for closings? I have some attorneys through my broker but I would like to keep wholesaling and MLS business separate.
