Florida Governor Suspends Vacation Rentals

Florida's governor, Ron DeSantis, just suspended vacation rentals for two weeks in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Even advertising your vacation rental on websites like AirBNB and VRBO (or by any other means) is potentially a second-degree misdemeanor. I've spoken to a number of my clients to whom I've sold vacation rental homes in Cape Coral and Fort Myers and they've told me that most renters had already cancelled anyway. But investor/landlords will want to suspend rental advertising on whatever vacation rental websites they use in order to comply with the suspension.

Be safe out there!

I do not see how the governor can just make laws out of no where. I understand their reasoning behind it, but that is the legislature that makes laws. The judicial is supposed to interpret law, but they have been legislating on their cases too. Governors and even several of the past presidents, seem to think they can just make a law. Not according to our constitution. It is a slippery slope if we do not curb it. Our country and people have become accustomed to "agencies" and unelected officials making their regulations and rules that are in reality laws, and it is against what our founding fathers planned. Ill get off my soapbox, what do you legal guys on here think?
