Military VA Loan/Getting Started
Hello, I am 20 years old, and currently serving in the Air Force. I'm really interested in starting investing, and hopefully using my VA Loan to buy a duplex. I would love if anyone can help on how the process of getting a VA loan works and just more information about the loan in general. Also I would just like advice on how to get started in general. I have been reading books published by the creators of the advice and it has been helping, but I still feel like I have way more to learn.

I bought my first house in Abilene with a VA loan. Later I refinanced it with a VA IRRL for better cashflow. I still have it. Most mortgage lenders are familiar with VA loans. I went through USAA at the time, since all my personal banking is with them.
They'll want all the normal stuff; bank account info, LES for several months, hard credit check, etc. They'll also ask for some kind of proof of eligibility. I think for at least one of mine (it's been a long time) it was just a letter that my commander had to sign, basically saying I was in the military, behaving myself, and the Air Force wasn't trying to actively kick me out. It might even just require an Officer's signature.
