Great Experience with Mr. Duplex!!

I grew up in Wisconsin but currently live overseas.  I wanted to try the real estate markets in my hometown so I connected w Mr. Duplex (Michael Henry) and got to know him.  Eventually, I worked with him to buy a duplex.  I paid $110k in October, 2018 and he did the full renovations work for me (which was included in the price I paid -- he fixed the roof, floors, HVAC, paint and made the house turnkey) -- I basically (against my common sense) trusted him with just about everything.  The risk has paid off thus far though.  He connected me with a fantastic property manager and we are successfully renting the unit out right now for $1600/month ($800/unit) with good cash flow over the past 6 months.  Our comps suggest the house could sell the house for $145k, which I might try to do.  

Mr. Duplex is a hugely responsive guy -- he would get on the phone pretty much at any hour of the day and talk for hours about what he was doing.  He also understands that he's in the reputation business and with me did just about everything he could to make sure I thought he was doing a good job and would do future business with him.  I didn't feel like I was being thrown for a loop at any point in the transaction.  It's rare you meet someone in this business who is so focused on building a long-term business, and who understands the importance of customer service and repeat customers.
