Hello everyone, My lender is asking for a 7 day extension on the current closing date, February 9th, but the seller is anxious. Has anyone encountered this situation before and what are some possible options/strategies? Thanks, Casida.

@Casida Caines

What are you most worried about right now?

Your lender asking for the extension or the seller being anxious?

The seller's anxiety may be due to the fact that he/she is also in the process of buying a house as well so the extension may affect their own closing date.

If anything, find out why your lender needs the extension. If they need more documents or clarify something that YOU can help with then do what you can on your side.

Talk to your Realtor to find out what the seller's anxiety is about and see what can be done to mitigate it.

You are dealing with professionals who have seen and resolved issues like this all the time. So this little fluke should not be something that can't be handled.
