From the eye of the storm - Jax

Greetings from currently sunny Jacksonville

Thank you to all my friends at BP for the kind words.

The storm is supposed to hit us on Monday at a Cat 2 level and they eye wall out to sea.  It depends on which forecast model you like.  The last hurricane to hit JAX was in 1964, Dora.  Last year, Matthew blew by and just gave us some rain and wind.

I think Miami is the real story in Florida.  My brother lives in Miami and is heading North to Jax, then to Alabama to out run the storm.

So, my question:

I am considering siliconing my doors closed to keep water out, should we get lot of rain.  I will leave the door from the garage to the house alone, as it raised.  The house is on a slab stick construction with Stucco exterior.

If we got a lot of rain would it just seep through the walls anyway?
