Best Books on Financing, Property Analysis, or Both

Hello. I am relatively new to the site and was wondering if anyone knew of any good books pertaining to the topics in the title. I would like to dive deep into both topic areas. I currently work in stock market analysis and have found a lot of similarities, but would like to know more about the subtle and sometimes not so subtle differences in methodology. Please let me know what your favorite books are.

Bryan,

Try:

Real Estate Finance Theory and Practice - Clauretie, Terrence M From 1996 but the math is still good. Just started reading this, the market stuff is good history, but the economics, portfolio theory etc. are straight B-school, and are excellent.

Real estate investor's deskbook - Arnold, Alvin L The one I have is from 1982, but again, it's great on the numbers. Probably my favorite book, but it's not an easy read.

Real estate mathematics simplified - Shulman, Susan A, from 1979, but it lays out the calculations very simply.

Sensible finance techniques for Real Estate Investors- Reed, John T from 1984

The real estate math handbook _ - Burrell, Jamaine, 2007

Successful real estate investing in a Boom or Bust Market - Loftis, Larry B 2007 - one of my favorites

Modern real estate - Wurtzebach, Charles H - I have the 3rd edition from 1987

The beauty of all of these is that they are free from openlibrary.org. I've got about 75 real estate related books of varying usefulness from there, without having to pay a single cent. If you know how D/L and save, you can build your own virtual library.

Good Luck,

Jim
