Large SF Property Rental For Beginner

Good morning BiggerPockets friends! I am a brand new investor that has been spending all my time learning and researching properties. I am currently trying to find my first deal and have come across a property that has intrigued me, but think it may be a bit over my head, so here I am reaching out to the seasoned veterans of the forums!

The property is a very large SF residence (7,000 sqft) that is a foreclosure. The only reason I even considered looking further into the property is due to the price being almost 50% less than the comps in the area, so I would have a lot of equity once everything was said and done. My first question is simply is this too big of an undertaking for a first time investor? Secondly, are large SF homes the kinds of properties that people actually look to rent long term, or is it more of a vacation rental investment?

Thank you in advance for any and all help that can be offered!
