Multifamily Decommission Unit Legality
Dear BP community,
I am wondering is there is any legality to "Decommissioning" a unit?
Does it simply mean that you can put it "not in use"? as in leave it vacant? Or is there paperwork that needs to be filed to the state/county to make the unit decommissioned? I guess this would be in the case of taxes. Perhaps a buyer would just like to use the other half for storage or for members of his/her immediate family to visit.
I am wondering because I was Navy and "decommissioned" is an old word and perhaps might be used as a legal term?
Thanks in advance.
