What did you sacrifice?
Hello everyone!
I would love to hear some of the sacrifices you all have made in pursuit of your real estate dreams! I have had a heck of a first month in "full time" real estate so here goes mine::
Currently, I do real estate & property management during the day from 9-4ish (Mon-Thur) and as needed Fri-Sun (its been needed a lot! - though 9am-8pm is pretty typical). In the evenings I work my corporate job from 4pm to 2:30am plus a 40 min. drive home. I have been doing this a little over a month and have been averaging right around 18 hour workdays - and I hit 100 hour workweeks really fast!. So that's the sacrifice....so far.
Here are the fruits of my labor - currently wrapping up my first flip (new retaining wall + Texas monsoon season + large hill = a mess...will share in a separate thread).
Also under contract for 4 more homes, 1 as a rental (BRRR), 1 will most likely be a turnkey rental for one of our private money lenders, and the other 2 will be flips. We have sourced all but one home ourselves with the other coming from a wholesaler. I have also put just about every penny I have into this so I am definitely committed.
We are currently managing about 20 properties (and growing) and every day has been a blast...even the ones where I was covered in dirt and mud after fixing the sod we just laid before the torrential rains came and washed it all away.
Oh and did I mention I also serve in the Texas Army National Guard? Will be leaving for two weeks of training this Saturday. And last but not least I am married with four kids - all of whom I have put to work in my real estate endeavors in one fashion or another. My four year old daughter is in charge of the sprinklers placement and watering the lawn!
That's a touch of my story...what's yours?
