I just finished paying off my home and looking to do some upgrades (yank carpet/replace ceramic) but I'm wondering if I should save $$ towards a down payment on a rental property.

I'm in my 30s and wanted to plan my future wisely but at the same time I want furnish my primary residence the way I want it for the longterm.
