beyond local markets
hi bp! I'm just starting out working on my first deal, and I got to thinking about my local area and other areas farther away. I live in a small town and not much goes on around here. I live in a paper mill town, and we have some oil/construction outfits. I feel the best strategy for my area would low income houses, and actually would probably cash flow better with them on section 8. these are doable, but I got to thinking about outside markets in bigger areas. Once I get my feet wet around here, how do you guys buy in far away markets? How do you say hey, I think this area is hot, so lets buy there? How do you find deals in the area? when you do pick the area, and find a deal, do you buy sight unseen or are you hopping on flights and doing road trips or what? thanks in advance!
