Investment Info:

Single-family residence buy & hold investment.

Purchase price: $408,000
Cash invested: $90,000

This beautiful home in Brighton, MI serves as our family residence. Home ownership is one of the best investments a person can have, one that allows you to live in it while it gains equity.

What made you interested in investing in this type of deal?

This home has served our family of 7 well. The space afforded us the opportunity to work from home and has allowed our children to be able to entertain friends and start their own businesses out of our house.

How did you find this deal and how did you negotiate it?

We bought this property during the recession, just as home prices were rising. It has increased in value to a new height of $725,000

How did you finance this deal?

Conventional loan with 20%+ down.

How did you add value to the deal?

We have updated many features of the home and finished the walkout basement.

Did you work with any real estate professionals (agents, lenders, etc.) that you'd recommend to others?

I represented myself in this deal.
