Roy Utah mother in law apartment?

Wondering if the city of Roy Utah it would be legal for me to add a mother in law apartment and rent out my basement?

You could call your local zoning and planning.  You would need a permit to add / build it.  Once you have a second kitchen most cities allow you to rent a mother in law when it is owner occupied residence.  I will check on Roy specifically tomorrow when they open up.
