Home Owner looking for investment strategy

Me and my wife are looking to sell or pull equity out of our only single family property that we currently live in. I been trying to get into real estate for years and this seems like a good time. I would also like to get a multifamily property. We have talked about using our home to purchase a rental property but realize we may need help.

Real estate investing is definitely a solid way to reap the benefit of cash flow from an asset - I would recommend starting with a SFH and then working your way up to multifamily once you are confident and have a better idea of what you are doing - you could look into doing a HELOC or some other sort of refinance on your current home if you need proceeds for a down payment - I would highly recommend building a relationship with a lender who can help you with funds for the purchase of a rental. As others have mentioned, meeting up with other local investors is a great way to network and learn about other people's experiences - best of luck!
