Why MortgageGrapevine.com Has Become a Lousy Resource

One of my associates pointed me to this website years ago, the Mortgage Grapevine, or MortgageGrapevine.com. This site has long been a good resource for finding lenders by posting your hard to fund deals on the forum and allowing interested lenders to respond. It is also a good place to search for information about a lender to see if they are legitimate or bogus.

However, because the site has no supervision and essentially no webmaster to moderate the forum, it has become a total free for all for the most unprofessional, trash talking people you can imagine. And because they are using screen names like, “Loanman,” and “Edible Investor” they can just spew their trash without any accountability. Because there’s no forum moderator or webmaster, the idiots that live on the MortgageGrapevine.com forum can just go wild.

So I invite you to try it. Go onto that site and post a deal or post a discussion. I’m sure you’ll quickly be berated by “Loanman” or “Edible Investor” for whatever you decide to post. For anyone looking for a good resource of information and discussion, STAY AWAY from the Mortgage Grapevine. It’s full of idiots who have nothing better to do all day than troll the Mortgage Grapevine, and they obviously aren’t making any loans! Instead they like to hide behind their screen names like a bunch of children and post nonsense crap in response to deals and other postings. Looking for a good real estate resource? You’re here! Biggerpockets.com. Thanks to good moderation Biggerpockets.com is the place for professionals not children.

I have also been to Landlord.com and used to like their forums, but now about 85% of the posts are spam. I have left and won't go back. I love Bigger Pockets because 99.9% of the posts on here are legitimate, and the very few that aren't, quickly get cut off by the eagle-eyed forum moderators. It's a joy to be here.
