@Nadya Ostroff, I hope you are looking for what to look at before you make an offer, and not trying to DIY your home inspection once you have made the offer.

If you're new to real estate, get a professional inspector to come inspect the property. There's nothing wrong with pre-inspecting it yourself, but you want to spend the money on an inspector. I've been doing this a long time, and I still get inspections on every property I buy.
