How do you find private investors

If you have a project that needs funding but you want a private investor to partner with, how do you locate such individuals that are willing to invest their own funds?

Be pro active you've made a good start networking is a great way. My company buys leads but not knowing the specifics of what your looking for from investors and how your structuring your investments I d say the internet and phone are great assets if your driven enough to work hard and putting the hours investors aren't going to come knock on your door in this economic climate, just be positive cash is king and people are out there just looking for the right deal.

            Introduction:  Vacation/Retirement/Investment Opportunity in Belize:  We are a very small, two family, LLC, and the developers of Manatee Bay Waterski Park, which is located in Belize, Central America. The Caribbean is accessible by a 15 minute boat ride across the lagoon and through the Manatee Bar River.  
            
            Why Belize?

            â€¢        The government is a stable English Parliamentary Democracy based on English Common Law. (Belize was once British Honduras.)
            â€¢        Money exchange is always $2 Belize to $1 US, so itâ€™s easy to convert.  Also, most everyone accepts US dollars, so one doesnâ€™t have to worry about exchanging money.
            â€¢        Itâ€™s easy to get to from LA, Houston, Dallas, or Miami.  A plane ride is about 2 to 2-1/2 hours from any of these airports to Belize City. 
            â€¢        Most importantly, foreigners can hold title to property in Belize.

depends on the project. Most investors are sitting on their hands. The smart ones are rocking and rolling, i.e. Warren Buffet. 3 billion more today invested in GE.
