Oil Tank Removal - CO Inspection

Hello BPers!

I'm closing on a three unit in Allentown on Chew street and 12th this Friday. and just received the report from the city inspection.

They are asking for the removal of the oil tank in the basement which is something I was thinking of doing but saw no urgency about. They also want a permit pulled for it. (cost for a 3 unit and one tank: $215, I guess rate varies with the number of unit and of tanks. it looks like a tax to me...)

This is apparently a new requirement... I'm assuming I need to get a licensed contractor to take care of that, which I'll confirm with the City tomorrow.

I'd like to push that expense back to the seller.

Who here has had to deal with this in Allentown or in the area?
What did it cost you?

Thank you!

@Yacine Rimmo

Talked to my PM about this, and it seems they've begun to enforce the oil tank removal just this year. I suppose I'm lucky my last few didn't have it or that it was already removed.

Best of luck!
