Note investing workshop

Posted

Anyone want to suggest a recent workshop that they used and recommend for note investing. I’ve been watching videos, read Dave’s note investing book, and listening to some podcasts. I’d like  find something to dive deeper with possible one on one or coaching through deals. Thanks everyone!

@Nastassia Baltodano

I recommend first doing research and determining whether you want to invest in 1st position or 2nd position notes, as they are drastically different. I recommend investors start with a performing note to get a better understanding of the processes involved, as I am unaware of any training program that discusses the entire process and how to manage it ahead of time.

Feel free to ask questions to the people you are learning from, and what are you getting out of it. This has been the biggest complaint I have heard from investors on training is related to expectations. Some questions to ask are:

1. Who is this course geared towards (brand new investors or those with some experience?

2. If its for new investors, when I am complete will I have the knowledge on how to bid on assets?

3. Will I have the knowledge to understand due diligence and how to review collateral?

4. Will I have a step by step process of how to bid, do due diligence, close and board a loan.

Some courses only give you a broad overview of the processes to get a better understanding, and require additional training, some are more in depth. Besides the above, the biggest tip I can give you is below:

WHATEVER YOU DO, NEVER BUY A NOTE FROM THE COURSE INSTRUCTOR!!!!.
