Start Small Think Big

I get asked a lot where should I start / what should I buy when investing in notes if I want to learn the business.

I typically recommend someone buy a low balance (with equity) performing asset so they understand the process. While this is not sexy and is “boring” - as a newbie there are risks in investing in paper and lack of the process can significantly increase risk.

As the title states, I am an advocate of start small and think big (which can lead to “smart growth” of your business)

Too many want to start big and think small because of hearing all the “great” deals where someone made 100%.

Where would you recommend someone starting out investing if they were to do it alone (versus partnering with someone).

I think that's a good place to start. I've seen people invest a lot of time and money into learning notes, and then never quite pull the trigger on a deal. Starting small makes it easier for someone to actually take action.
