A real estate finance book published in 1983

I bought a copy of "Essentials of Real Estate Finance" which was published in 1983. I realized after I started reading that there's a very good chance everything is says is completely obsolete. Has anyone read this book? Or have any advice on if a book written 33 years ago would be worth my while to read. I am very new to real estate, and I'm interested in learning more about finance and note investing.

Check out Invest in Debt by James Napier. It too is older but the concepts apply to this day.  The note space is an exciting place to be.  I just returned from a NJ note expo.
