Market discount on 1099-INT
does anyone's note servicer include the discounted portion of principle repaid on their 1099-int? I see the blank market discount box on mine and wondering if this is what it is for. And if I can and should set that up with my servicer to report based on the discount I got on the note. Or do you like just calculate it yourselves to add to the interest paid that is reported in box 1? Thanks!
