Unpaid taxes and unpaid HOA

Hi! I’m looking for guidance. Our neighbors in Maine have not paid their taxes in a few years. We’d like to buy their property from them, but cannot reach them. They also have not been living at the house for a few years. What options do we have? Thank you.

Have you scriptraced their address to get possible phone numbers or emails?

Several things you can do:

1. You can call the county tax office and see if they will sell the taxes to you.

2. You can mail them something and see if it gets forwarded to them

3. As others mentioned, you can skiptrace them to get their information

4. you can ask your postal person if they have a forwarding address for them.

Quote from @Rebecca Coleman:

Start with their address on the tax roll.

then move to linked in and Facebook.

then move to general Google search.

leave a note on the door

see if any other neighbors know them

Hope one of those ideas works.

@Rebecca Coleman good advice above. I would add, also check to see if you state has court cases on line. If they do look up the owner's name. There may be records that indicate what is happening with the property or a case with their new address.
