Countertop in rental property
Hi Everyone,
I just purchased my first townhome that I plan to live in for a year then rent out. I am going to make some updates while living there. I plan to replace the flooring, paint the cabinets, update appliances, paint and put on a new countertop. I am trying to decide between granite and laminate. The going rate is between 1300 and 1500 a month. How much value does a granite counter top add over a laminate? Please let me know what you think.

@Clay Gregord Personally, I’d go with granite. Granite is quite effective as it is scratch, stain and chip resistant. I would suggest a darker shade of granite to prevent any stains.
