Approaching Flip Construction Sites

There are lots-o-flips going on in my neighborhood (Highlands in Denver) and I was wondering how to approach the flippers in order to gain market knowledge or meet more real estate investors.

What are some insightful questions to ask?

If only workers are there, what helpful information would they have? Is it kosher to ask who their employer is?

I feel like I am missing an opportunity my saying nothing, but don't know where to start.

Thanks for the feedback.
