There is a 3x3 metal hatch door in the walkway leading to the front entrance to my bldg. the metal is textured (chevrons) but i would like to make it much more anti slip.

Is tape ok or should i paint it? If paint what kind?

The metal looks like galvanized or stainless

thank you for ideas!!
