final inspection craziness today

had to pass the affidavit items. the head inspector tells me, "You need to cut these bedroom doors 1 inch. You need circulation & these doors have no clearance."

When the inspectors showed up originally (standard procedure to go thru every house that went thru foreclosure in this village), they created a 38 item list of affidavit items. This last item was not on the list.

How am I supposed to know what to do if it wasn't on the list? I know he's trying to help but it makes it tough to get the job done when I don't know what needs to be done. The rooms could be cold in the winter; hot in summer...etc so I understand where he's coming from.

I thought he said it was code, but not sure.

Lastly, how do you read the mind of an inspector?
