Laminate Flooring Match

Let's say that you have a floor that is in good shape, but a very small area (call it 30 sq ft) has scratches and looks pretty bad. If you have no information on where the floor originally came from, how would you go about finding the right match of both aesthetics and interlocking mechanism to match the rest of the floor which really doesn't need to be replaced?

Yes, I did cut out a sample of the existing floor and brought it into a local showroom... and I'm still asking the question.
