Mosaic Backsplashes ?

For years most rehabbers in the District of Columbia have used the standard granite countertops in kitchens and baths, usually with a granite backsplash, in one of about 4 basic color groups.

In the last 6 months however the mosaic backsplash with a quartz composite countertop trend has swept in and taken over everywhere around town.

The issue I'm finding is that there are so many color and design options with the mosaic backsplashes that they can be headache-inducing after about 5 minutes if they're not done well.

What are other rehabbers, especially the east-coast folks, finding? Are buyers looking for mosaic backsplashes or are they getting turned off by them? What's selling best?

Thanks for your input.
